So, we're quickly approaching a new year and I thought I would take a moment to reflect on 2017. To start, the year proceeded day to day just as anticipated, but there were a few things I would consider highlights. Back in early spring, I decided that I wanted to go back to college to complete my degree. So, after a lot of thought and searching, I decided to apply to Penn State University. I was accepted and started fall semester. At this point I just finished my classes and the completion of my first semester! Go me!!!! I have to admit that getting back into the swing of being a student and studying was a challenge at first, but I quickly learned it was all about "time management". Over the summer I missed out on different functions and events, but I had to make my studies the priority. So, all and all, I done good...considering I work full time, and have a husband and a little dog name Bentley. My husband has been super supportive and that alone made things a lot easier. In fact there were times when having a moment of frustration that I literally would say " what the hell was I thinking" and each time my husband was right there saying "you can do it...I know you can". In the beginning.....the struggle was real!, but I've learned a lot and glad I stuck with it and now moving forward. Now we're in December, and unfortunately, my Mother-in-Love (law) just passed away. She lived a good long life...years I pray I get to see, and was loved by many. My husband and family are doing well through it all. It kind of put a damper on the holiday season, but we still have a little time left. Perhaps if I do a little Christmas shopping, and crank up the Christmas music while I wrap a few gifts will give me some Holiday cheer. It's been a good year and I really don't have any complaints. Of course there's always room for improvement, but I will home in on some things like a healthier diet, becoming more physically active, making it a point to spend time or stay connected with true friends in the New Year. No resolutions....just continued improvement. With that said, may you have the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of Holidays! T~Mack

Summer is about staying cool which means baring more skin. But in order to look good baring that skin, you need to take some time to ready your skin and reverse the signs of neglect you showed your skin during fall and winter. Here are some helpful tips to get your skin summer ready!
1. It's so very important to exfoliate your skin. Your body sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every minute of every day. If you don't get rid of them, they'll just set on your skin making you look dull and dry. This can be done with a body scrubber or a sugar scrub.
2. If you shave, use a good razor and a good shaving cream. When picking out a shaving cream, don't choose a men's cream; a shaving lotion is much better for your skin as it will hydrate and help ward off nicks and cuts. If you want to shave but don’t have any shaving cream you can use your conditioner for a moisturizing shaving cream.
3. Preserve your own natural oils by lowering the water temperature when you shower or bath and use a good moisturizer immediately afterwards.
4. Find a daytime facial moisturizer that contains sunblock to protects the delicate skin on your face. Over exposure due to prolonged time spent in direct summer sun can cause sun burn and contribute to premature aging of the skin.
Summer is on the way so before you pull out those shorts, tank tops, swimwear, skirts and sundresses…get that skin summer ready!8)
